Getting there slowly. I have narrowed the model so that the width including the wheelarches is 2.3m. This looks better. I've also changed the shape of the front. I;m fairly happy with the overall shape and dimensions now. Without any frontal or rear pictures there is going to have to be some guesswork involved. I can now gradually build up the detail. Then I have to worry about what colours to use!!

Yes Avro. The second version. I will do that one as well.

Awesome link Chicharrero. You are the internet search wizard! I knew there must be some more photos out there somewhere. That one with the lorry on the train I haven't seen before and is great as it shows the front with the hatches closed and wittout the spotlight. The models look great as well and kinda answers the questions I have. I'm just going to translate the text and see what info is in there as I'm still not convinced that the width is right.

Thanks again. Brilliant find! I owe you a beer!

Sporticus, it may just be my eyesight, but I had the impression the roof peak of the second vehicle, as shown in Avro202's post, is a little higher than the roof peak in the first vehicle.
This led me to wonder if the second vehicle had been constructed in slightly modified form, in order to perhaps partially overcome certain non-visible deficiencies in the first vehicle?

Just a thought, and possibly purely conjectural on my part, but I felt it wise to voice the perception I'd arrived at.

Kind and Respectful Regards Sporticus, Uyraell.

Yes you are right Uyraell. There are quite a few differences in the second vehicle. The design of the first looks simpler and better to me, but there must have been reasons for the changes. I suspect many of them are due to the internal layout of the vehicle.
