I have all his DC-9s but so far only the Eastern and TWA have the upgrade. I got my new files direct from Sumato. My upgraded files are dated 20 May 2015. I don't know if the files on eCardmodels are the upgraded ones (I bought all mine from the Skyline website.)
I have not seen any updated DC-9 kits come through from Sumato. I took a peek at some of the DC-9 kits and they all had modified dates of 2013 and 2014. None for 2015. I checked the Eastern kit and it still had the V1L and V1R parts in the kit.

When I print in laser, the printing gets this nice shinning finish, but Sumato's web site shows a very high
shinning.

Anybody knows the technique he uses for this?

Maybe he uses a product to spray his finish models... but I've used Krylon and Aileen's products, and I
don't get my models this bright.
Sumato has a friend of his Kevin Kertz build his models and I think they are spray finished.

The gloss finish could be from spraying after model is complete or it might have been printed on glossy photo paper.

Does anybody know what would be a better choice than Krylon or Aileen?

Yankeeboy, I guess photo paper would be greatly difficult to manage and have this kind of model finish.
Unless of course I'm wrong, I might say photo paper is no good for detailed models. But thank you for
your suggestion on the spray. I just need to find what kind.

Here is my finished 48'' long 1/30 scale RC EDF DC-9-30 using Sumato's plans and finished in Northwest Airlines colors. It came out heavier than I wanted to and I am having problems with the motors so she flew like a brick

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpFRSaeIvgU

Once I fix the motor issue, I'll take some weight out and add fixed slats and flaps and fix the tail decal (yes, its upside down...). Also working on a large 1/30 64'' 767-200 RC jet using Skyline plans!

Just bought the eastern one from ecards, great artwork and all, but it still seems to have the old wing structure (the torque box-esque spar) Is there any way i could get the updated wing structure?

I'm sure you can email Sumato and he can help you out. But if the kits have been updated, they should be sent over to Ecardmodels to have those listing updated as well. When they are, one of the Ecard staff will post about the update which would already be in your account to download.

bringing this thread back to life as I build my own in Eastern colors

unfortunately none of the of the photos are available on Photobucket anymore. But it looks relatively easy to build.

Im sure it will come out great Issac. I always enjoyed the few Skyline models I have. Unfortunately I fear they will become almost an urban legend as time goes by....

looking forward to the pictures.
