Thanks for the posts guys! Not much progress made on this the past week due to everybody in the house catching a fever. Need to finish the seats, steering wheel, front bumper with winch, gun, gas tanks, rack, and the wheels. Have found a few mistakes I made in coloring the templates as well as a few numbering areas in the instructions which are all fixed now. I had glued the taillights in the wrong spot so had to tear them off which you can see in the pics, I made sure to go back and mark the spots on the templates as well as a few other areas I had omitted.

The bodywork in this model always reminded me of the "Lamborghini Jeep" concept vehicle that came out somewhere in the mid 1970's. It was allegedly 4x4 and capable of 100+ Mph. I never believed the claims, but it was a vicarious experience to see the GI Joe jeep in stores a couple of years later, wearing a close-enough identical body.
It is certainly interesting to see a "take" on the toy, which, quite justly, became more famed than the vehicle it was modelled from. I'm glad you decided to make this model, Grizley, and am enjoying seeing it evolve. Kind and Respectful Regards, Uyraell.

Actually the Rambo Lambo was a production vehicle built from 1986 to 1993
the LM002 looks very much like this design, Lamborghini did try to market a 4 wheel drive platform in 1977 to the US Military, called the Cheetah, which almost could be a twin of the VAMP. I do believe that Griz here has a great basis for the Lamborghini Cheetah, or the LM001 and LM002 looking forward to more progress Rick

I loved all of those GI Joe vehicles, I just could'nt afford them (especially those big ones like the hovercraft and the rattler jet). Hope to see paper models of them so that I could finally get them and maybe be able to shrink them down to 1/48 scale so they wouldn't take up so much space either!
