Fat Man (F31) at 1/24

As promised, I started the new project "Fat Man".

I showed in the previous project the starting point of the new design, and since then I worked reshaping the whole body.

Gadget

In the mean time i deepened the geometry of the implosive sphere.
On the net You can find some schematics that show the interior of the implosive device, referring to the Trinity's gadget or to the bomb of Nagasaki.

But in my opinion the platonic solid that were used was not correct. It seems that it was used a truncated icosahedron, but the photo below depicts a different solid, i tought at the dodecahedron.

I tried to reproduce the shape of the sphere and it seems to me that i was right. Here You can compare the actual photo of a test unit with my simulation.

Using this solid we have only two types of HE charges: a regular and an irregular pentagon.

Smile Tail design

Ok, I may use all this, when and if my madness take me to do the interior ....

For now i concentrated myself on the tail, and I'm refining this part of the Fat Man: a true nightmare of surfaces and parts.

I don't know if I can realize this version so full of details, but I always can simplify the design if i cannot.

Best, Nando

Off to a great start. Does anyone know if there is a model of Boch's Car available? These models just scream 'diorama.'
