TRFKAB, alpha build.

Well she's not easy to build because of the size, but using the double planking concept of model shipbuilders the body came out quite nice:






however, the fins seem to be a problem:

What if you made it so the fins fit into a slot on the side of the rocket?

That would make it easier to fit the rocket's curve.

that's an option, but it would severely weaken the structure. this rocket is designed to be a flyer.

Oh.......... I wasn't aware that it was going to fly.

So I guess you'll have to design the fins around the curve............. how are you going to handle the "splash down"?

Does the top pop off and release a chute?

The top four sections are glued together, but are just a pressure fit on the launch tube
with extra circle tops and bottoms to seal it. will add counter weight in the nose if
necessary:

I'm using Neptune's color scheme from the big boy rocket as a starting point, but its my own texturing. I'm also working on one using the black theme:
