need help building a paper piggy bank.
Hello. This should be an interesting challenge.
So I've been tasked with building a truck (like a UPS truck, big and boxy) out of paper for a project. Since the project is for a bank, I thought it would excellent to also make it a piggy bank. The build is simple. The trouble I am having is designing the piece so that it can withstand some sort of weight from coins and money. The wheels are the weeak spot since they are the only things touching the ground. This has to be easy enough for a kid to put together so no gluing! Check out the attached for what i've come up with thus far. I hope it's understandable while flat. I need suggests from the pros! |

I'm hardly a pro, but...Since it's a kid's bank, you could try making the bottom flat, with the wheels just printed on the sides. Like this Disney school bus lunch box.

Welcome to the forum.
For a bank, I would not have it sitting on it's wheels, but have the wheels as part of the side artwork. Similar to this

I agree with them, that would be the simplest way to do it, but if you want the wheels to stick down, you could put a small black box under it to support the weight.

thank you for the replies. yes, it is looking like I will have to make the bottom flat after all. It would have been cool to have it raised up at least a little bit.
