Lavochkin made quite a few designs of early jets only to lose out to Mig and Suchoi.

I have the Yefim Gordon book " Lavochkin's last jets " and it is great reference book ( Amazon carries it ).

The ultimate was the La-250 Anokonda. Lavochkin La-250 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

but I like the others as well.

That LA-160 is one strange looking plane. Similar to the Yak-23, but with swept back wings
