426 hemi... Hope to design!
OK folks. I feel I need to learn what all you guys do so well. So for my first real project (expect to go slowly) I will be designing an engine. I figured cant go wrong with a 426 Hemi. If it proves popular I may then design some other engines. I figure these might be good add ons for current models. I plan to design to a pretty high level of detail in a pretty large scale (to be determined) so that it can be reduced as desired for whatever size model they may enjoy building. I figure I would like my final build to be about 8 inches or so....
Now here is where I need some help - I need good drawings, pics etc. If someone has any or can help me locate, please do! Thanks Chris

You can use my Hemi as a reference. I use it to power my filing cabinet!
It's a Hawk kit. Got it at Wally-World during their model liquidation phase. Seriously, if you want more pictures of it let me know. Greg |

Hey Chris, I realize that "just because I want to" is enough reason; but why do a Hemi or even some of the other common engines since so many are available in plastic and diecast in several scales. How about some a bit different like a classic era Dusenberg 8, Packard 12, Cadillac 16; or a Pontiac, Buick or Olds straight 8; or an Offy. Just some ideas.

As I said "because I want to" is good enought! Might want to check out the current issue of Hemmings Classic Car April 2009. Has a good article with some photos of American V12s as an idea starter. But will agree that probably the various early and late Chrysler hemi's have probably had more photos taken of them then any other engine with possible exception of the flathead Ford V8.
