WOW, well that is a way to say it.
But in my opinion, this was the best story of the war.

Best story - maybe, not on my list, but at least hopefully true.

Thank you for the images of “Ye Old Pub”. I still wonder though, where the artist of the paintings and decals got their reference material. So far I have not seen any photos of the actual B-17F in question.

As far as the “Ye Old Pub” story is concerned, at its core it appears to be true, but it has been embellished to make the narrative more interesting. As I’ve stated before, the only ones who know for sure what happened, were those that were there. Unfortunately, this kind of embellishment doesn’t seem to be that un common. One need only to look at the many myths surrounding the “Memphis Belle” to appreciate this. If there is enough interest in seeing a model of “Ye Old Pub”, I will certainly try to accommodate that.

As to the Fortress Mk. 1, work is progressing well. I am finishing up the engine nacelles and have to do some test building to see how the camouflage flows across the parts. I’d like to at least have one of these built up to take to the Army Heritage Days event in Carlisle PA in May. Below are a couple of photos of a recent fuselage test build.

That British Fortress I was a good-looking airplane. Nice work, John.

I’m always on the lookout for strange and unusual B-17 paint schemes for potential models, but I think this is a bit too strange!
