Magnificent design and build, Ted!
All the effort spent in considering the way to portray the teak decking really paid off from what I can tell...no doubt there is a bit of trial and error in designing a model, but it seems clear those trials are really paying off in giving you a very impressive build! Cheers! Jim |

Thanks Jim, it has been a challenge. The next few bits are the stacks , boat cranes and a loading device. I think this thing is like a giant reloading tool for 5" shells. a lot of cruisers seem to have them. sometimes tucked away under platforms and such. this is the mark 1 version the next one is simplified.

Hi
The 5inch loading device is in fact, a practice gun mount for training. The gun crews would step through the "drill" for the dual purpose 5inch mount. Hope that helps Jeri |

Hello Ted, great work, I'm just a disaster with the paint program and now I am very stuck with my project. But I'm consoling watching your progress.

Jeri, thanks for the info, I always wondered what those things were.
Marco, we all get stuck. One thing that helps especially with scaling parts that look good on the screen but when printed are too small, get an accurate scale on your paint programs working sheet. This gives an idea of how small things will be when printed to scale... |

mk 4 hull and hopefully final build!
thanks Don, it was a long project with a lot of speed bumps but she is almost there... the next series are all the mk4 finished version. here are the parts sheets and the final hull being built. this shows some of the critics out there that designers Do test build their projects...

1st level superstructure
the next section are the 1st level superstructure and details. there are separate printed on parts to build up the plain smooth printed on details. this makes the model more 3d...
