I have emailed Digital Navy 2 or 3 days ago but have not yet heard back. I will post anything new as it comes in.

Hello all. I found this thread via another and although I live in Spain now, I was raised in Superior WI/Duluth MN. My stepfather (passed away) was a Chief Engineer on the Great Lakes but had retired years before he met my mother. I am very interested in this ship and also in the possibility of a Whaleback, as they were very unique ships in there time. Count on me to purchase this one as soon as it is available. David

Funny, when I see the name Bradley, I'm thinking a AFV build. Didn't know ship named Bradley too. Learned something new here again :D Very nice build, by the way.

Roman @ Digital Navy - Carl Bradley design study

This is certainly not my home field, but curiousity led me to it - here are a few of Roman's (Digital Navy) own studies of the Carl D. Bradley, and they are fresh, as of January this year 2011:

Carl D. Bradley-lg2048-arm1-14.jpg Carl D. Bradley-lg2048-front1-14.jpg Carl D. Bradley-lg2048-front3-14.jpg Carl D. Bradley-lg2048-rear1-14.jpg Carl D. Bradley-lg2048-rear2-14.jpg Carl D. Bradley-lg2048closefront1-14.jpg

Source is the Shipmodel Forum.

If you read the page there you will find that Roman is a bit dubious about a suggestion that his upcoming paper model would look great in 1/87 scale. Since this is a dead horse I've been flogging for a long time, I was particularly happy to find that there actually already is a line of plastic models of Great Lakes freighters in 1/87 scale, apparently selling well for as much as 389$+SH. Perhaps Roman might do a lot worse than offering his paper model in 1/87 scale as well...

Leif

Roman should stick to 1:250 scale, that's where the market is. Model railoaders won't buy it, too hard to build and too big. She was 600+ feet long, that is a huge model in 1:87 scale. Nice to see Roman has not abandoned her.

Fred, thanks. Serves me right. Should have kept a bit lower profile venturing into fields I know less about...
