I wouldn't set Railroaders as the standard. There is a huge R/C community that could easily convert these ships over. I was going to use my 1/50th Lilla Weneda as a Fiberglass Hull and now wish I had made 2. I still may. It is easier to scale down digitally than scale up, as when you scale up, many of the parts won't fit on the pages. If it is a download, make it big. I prefer big models, but honor anybody's decision to work in whatever scale they wish. 1/87 would be one of those "one in a lifetime" builds. That has it's own attraction.

Lief, like Jim I am happy that you found that she is still alive and kicking! I am not looking forward to building her boom. It is all angle iron, and lots of rollers and other difficult to model stuff. I hope Roman has good pictures. I think her drawings are in Bowling Green at the Institute for Great lakes Research (if your reading, Roman).

I do not want to repeat it - but there is a discernible progress?

With lovely greetings
the Wilfried

Dont hold your breath! At 1/87 (HO)scale this model comes out near 90 inches!! Most would prefer in the "N" scale range (Putting it near 45 inches), then giving us non-railroaders the opportunity to enlarge from there. Some of my larger RC projects are in the 1/144 scale area....easy to get there from here.
