Well fellows, must admit, you had rather thought experiences
For me It is hard even to imagine what feels to be in front line.

PS. Herky, thanks for cutaway.

Recently got some new information about hull geometry. As a result had to start almost from beginning. Designed and re-designed 3D mesh by moving dozens of points again and again...

Could anyone describe what marked part might be?

Perhaps this image will give a clearer understanding of the structure and geometry involved in this steering arrangement. Having the inboard vertical shaft transfer it's load by way of a steering arm helps reduce the torsional stress that would be present in a single continuous vertical rudder post.

Thanks Maurice,
I'm not an expert of marine vessel's, and I really appreciate comments as such.

Hi Herky,

There is nothing to laugh about it... just sweet memories
By the way what was Your's first duty on Canberra? It would be interesting to read some brief memories about career of Your's on this ship. Maybe some interesting adventures had happened (apart form Falkland war). Also thanks for the pictures.

During the week I had no time to work on model, only now find a few hours to work on it.
As the template of the hull was finished I've started to "convert" it into developable surfaces (the surfaces that is possible to unroll and create flat part-sheet). Usually I transfer lines on 3D hull where I think cross section part must be. However the things ain't so simple, lines still need editing to create layout of surfaces in such way that edges would match the original hull pattern. Otherwise it might happen that edge line would interfere a windows and it won't look so good...

As you can see, this time hull ain't so smooth comparing to the 3Dmesh hull. But that is the price for approximation... Notice that sharp line on the bow isn't a mistake, the original had the same.

PS.: Herky, I won't forgot about stabilizers
