Awesome work!

I've been hoping for these since I saw the movie. Thanks!

Exclamation Question Time!!

To the aviation builders and designers (mostly the builders):
Should I or should I not add internal fuselage formers and wing spars?
I'm anticipating a 10" (25.4cm) wing span on the finished kit.

In my view looking at the 3-D model, I would suggest 2-3 formers for the fuselage and for sure a wing spar to help keep that shape.

Rolling along....

Added formers and spars. The 3D is about done. Time to go to coloring.

A minor snag.....very minor....

I cannot find adequate reference on the camo pattern used on the top of the aircraft and my DVD of the film has been worn beyond use for a few years.

So....I ordered a replacement last Friday and it will arrive this Friday.

Until then I'll work on the assembly guide for Manta Station.

Tail shape looks like it needs a bit of a tweak.

Very cool very cool! Tail is a tad long (I worked off the Fantastic Plastic build and the Blender link you posted when I did my work up) Looks like I have a good full weekend planned out!

Talking

Got my fresh copy of the DVD yesterday and after a few hundred screenshots (not all for the manta fighter - only want to screenshot the dvd once) combined with the references Ryan rounded up (Thank you Ryan!) A few tweaks have been made and I am going to patterning with this and including some "lagniappe" as my cajun friends would say:
Two build options - Static with gears down or Dive mode with propellers in rearward position and a display stand for each.
