Grüße von Einheit Elf! (Greetings from Unit 11!Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow)

And greetings from the Dimension of "Sky Captain and The World of Tomorrow". Dusting off the old WIP (work in progress) folder I saw I had enough reference to do some Sky Captain models and after a quick web search they still met my criteria for design: (1-They don't exist. 2-I have reference material. 3-I want to build them at some point in time) so I dove straight into it and after a weekend the 3D is done on the first one, the 'Eisen Flieger Bipedal Luft Jager' (Iron Aviator Bipedal Air Hunter).

While at work this week I'll mull over whether I want a 'showroom floor' finish or weathered but I'm pretty sure it will be weathered.

This may interest me. Wasn't completely successful, but I still really liked that movie.

That's very cool! BTW, the German designation would be "Eisenflieger zweibeiniger Luftjäger".

It would be if the film was German made but you know how Hollywood is.......

For those debating their personal build scenarios here's an exploded view. I tried to keep it as simple as possible. And now it's off to my work week...Have a great day all!

OK, now it is time for the ultimate question:

Will the limbs be movable?

By coincidence, I finally saw this film for the first time a few days ago. Very enjoyable. A tale straight out of Flying Aces.

I like the model!

Heh. That IS a good question. My answer is two-fold in one response: Not at the current time from me.

Having said that I'll also say I myself am no stranger to a kit mod and especially a robot kit mod. I did a scaled-up poseable Lens Head some years back (Page 7 in my gallery here) and Shunichi-san was quite receptive of it so I'd certainly be amenable to seeing someone do a poseable mod on this.
