(It seems a strange association but sometimes a given canopy will work for very different aircraft. Perhaps cutting the canopy lengthwise and adding the center glazing with sheet plastic results in a good fit.)

I think the Skyknight was part of push for "multi-role" aircraft. The Phantom was one too, and there are others (Prowlers and Growlers).
