Now I'm trying to decide just how far to take this. It could get really complicated to build! I might have to do something bigger than my favorite 1/72 scale. I guess that's what happens when you're bored and sick at home for two days with a sinus infection.

BTW, does anyone know of an M18 nearby to them that they could get some pictures for me of the inside of the turret?

Hi Ryan,

I think it looks great as it stands. Add your tracks and essentials and then unfold. I really want to see how this comes out on paper!

That said, I also have trouble knowing when too much detail is way too much detail, so I'm not the one to give advice on that score!

I guess I really do need to unfold some of it, rescale it to 1/72, and then find out how difficult the rest will be. I haven't yet decided what to do about the tracks, but I'm leaning towards them being a single piece.

Uhoh! I just found some references for the turret! Yay, I think.

Well, this project is officially shelved for about a month. No, it's not too difficult and I'm not having trouble with it, but I'm going to try and finish up another project on a much bigger scale (Flight Instructor) and I've just set myself a deadline, so that has to come first. Will be studying quite a bit more and probably dropping off the online radar except for an occasional lurk. Hopefully the M18 will be back full blast afterwords.

Well, I'm working on it again...

Trying to find a way to make the bogies and tracks look real but not too complicated to build. I'd like to find a compromise that would make it easy to use for wargaming, but also attractive to more advanced or serious builders.

It's going somewhat slowly, but part of that is I'm testing every part's unfolding capabilities before I move on to the next one. I'm hoping that once I unfold it, it will be a relatively trouble-free initial build.
