Great little model and nice sketch.
I worked at IMP in Halifax in the engineering department addressing all the maintenance and servicabilty problems that this aircaft had. IMP also had a contract to overhaul the US Navy and Egyptian Seakings.

Sikorsky was approached back in the 1980's about re-opening production of the Sea-King. The tooling was gone and the price too high. They are fantastic helicopters. There are companies specializing in Sea King overhauls and I believe they will be around for a long time as it would be cheaper to overhauls one than to produce a new variant for most commercial users. The Sky Crane is a good example of this as Sikorsky sold the rights to manufacture that helicopter to Erickson-Air Crane. Erickson is manufacturing new S-64's from scratch. I wonder if the Sea-King which has been produced by so many different companies will have a similar future.

Yes, the Sea King is( or was) a very good helicopter. I was allowed to fly with it ()

The Australian Navy is long term Sea King operators. Unfortunately they lost one due to a maintenance stuff-up during earthquake relief work in Indonesia a couple of years ago.

I think many of the Australian Sea Kings were built under license from Sikorsky by Westland.

Charlie
