Alan, not being a purist that's a great idea, can think of a couple of things right now that would work for.

Edit: Unfortunately, the video was not available..

That is so awesome! And that particular scene in the movie was almost shocking to me! It is the one thing that sticks out in my mind. It was totally unexpected, and quite unusually graphic for a film from that period.

In case you are not familiar with how to make them here is a video:
Thanks! Not sure, maybe the stiffness would be okay, unlike those tankbots, I was not going to make anything on this one dynamic. I will experiment with those.

It's thin, corrugated like the Joints in a 'vintage' Spacesuit, and is small enough that it should match, scale wise...

Just a thought.

Alan
I think those would actually work, because they are available in different sizes, but yeah, I am going to try and keep this one as much paper as possible this go around.

I had toyed with the idea of making a paper mache type substance, and creating a mold from polymer clay. I may even try that as an experiment. But, really , I suppose that's not purist either.

Here's an update and some pics. I have a helmet, torso, and the skirt at the hips.

Thanks! I have one complete leg and am working on the next.
I wonder should I move this thread from "Design" to "Alternate Dimensions" since I am really just mainly building now? At this point I am not really designing anymore, other than a few adjustments here and there.

Also, I am more that willing to share the designs with anyone who would like them. The caveat would be there would really be no "instructions" per se. I could include a sheet with the exploded view and some tips I suppose. I mean if anyone is really interested in them. I attached a sample image. It's actually eight pages, to give you an idea of how big things are.
