Earth v Flying Saucer Alien
While I am waiting on paint to dry for my tankbot, I decided on my next project. I am going to attempt to design and build one of the alien occupants from "Earth v Flying Saucers".
I really like this movie and have seen several designs for the saucers, but not too many for the aliens. I have made a 3d model in Maya, now I need to start breaking down the parts, and figuring out how to make or represent the bellows at the joints. So stay tuned

Well that's a switch...I was expecting another tankbot. Sounds like a most interesting model. Looking forward to its development.

This is what you do waiting for paint to dry! Roll on many hours of paint drying then. What size will this figure be ?

Nice. Now all we need is a Ford truck with that ray gun thingy mounted on the flatbed.

Thanks everyone! Just switching up subjects, thought I'd try my hand at a figure I mostly stay in the sci fi area. It's just what I find interesting and satisfying. I have done so much art and animation at the direction of others, it's always nice to do some work just for myself.
I'm painting all of those legs as individual pieces (on the tankbot) and it takes several coats, so it's taking a while. Kinda stop n go work. I'd like to have it end up about a foot tall. So scale would be what, about 1/6? I bet there is a Ford truck out there, somewhere! Just need the magnetic field disruptor ray! I simplified the model some. I think I will make the bellows joints as bent cylinders, and add strips wrapped around in concentric rings to represent the folds. I'm unfolding and adjusting tabs now.

How big is this going to be? If not too big, I would think narrow strips wrapped around the joints would be a good representation.
I really don't remember seeing an F-Series 1951 Ford Stake Bed anywhere as a paper model

There is a 50 Ford pickup in 1/25 plastic, which could give you a starting point.
