Thanks! I thought this one, being rather simple shapes, would be fairly easy to build... but some of these small, repeated details are giving me the devil. See what I did there? The devil...

I like the open dome 3-d effect you mentioned. I made a devil girl from mars saucer, its here somewhere in downloads, I would like to have that behind your CHANI robot!! one of my favorite rainy day scifi movies. the british bw scifi were fantastic, devil girl from mars, cosmic monsters, the crawling eye, stranger from venus, secret of the loch, to name just a few, were great to watch all winter while it rained and rained all day and night for 6 months. very soothing and with those vhs tapes from sinister cinema !!!! kept me well entertained for years!

You can have it if you like. It's pretty big scale right now, about 12 inches tall. I didn't see the saucer in the downloads, but it is a very cool looking saucer for sure! I've seen Devil Girl and Crawling Eye, but I don't think I have seen any more of those you listed. I did watch Planet of the Vampires a couple night s ago. You can see Alien definitely was inspired by it. (Even if Ridley Scott says he's never seen it...)

Anyhoo, here is this weekends progress. Took me a little while to work out how to handle the small surface details. I also reinforced all four sides with another layer of card.
