That was a lot of crepe paper snipping!

I have painted his head so I can move on to the clothes. I will make the shirt collar and ruffle from my black crepe streamer. The jacket and pants are made from some textured, black paper I found at the craft store.
I adjusted the jacket design I did for ole Frank, then traced it onto the black paper in pencil. That's as far as I got this weekend. I need another sheet of the textured paper for the other half of the jacket and probably one for the sleeves too.

Did some work on the jacket. I think I need to make it about an inch longer on the bottom edge. This paper is so thick, I'm not digging it 100% yet. I like the texture, just not how it folds over on itself. I may try a different type of paper...

Coat texture looks really good. Hope you persevere with the paper it's made from.

I think it matches pretty good. Made from some longer paper, so I could make it closer to kneelength. Now on to the sleeves, the the hands...

Coat's looking good now, the length looks just right. By the way, please don't put a Freddie Mercury moustache on him ( though it would be fun just to see what he'd look like).

Ok, I won't. (yet)
I made the shirt and sleeves, but not happy with how I connected them to the main part of the coat. I was trying not to remove his arms, but I just may have to break down and do it right...
And the excess glue gobs are horrifying close up... must do better!

Looks good to me, but you are the artist and therefore more critical of your work. (I'm never happy with work I do either, but that's what drives us -rightly or wrongly- to achieve better results and progress -the frustration just drives you bonkers at times though!).

In the photos, I don't see anything to be unhappy with.

Great work
