Haha yes I was so disappointed not seeing some vomit zombies on Eros!

Anyway... Another design question. I have this part a the center of the ship, which is kinda large and complicated, with altering inward- and outward- folding angles. I was wondering how to unfold it in a way that would be the least painful to build. I have two alternatives, can you help me choose? I'm probably going to test build both soon but would still like some input. There are going to be some structural pieces inside so it doesn't have to be too rigid, but the large amount of alternating folds scare me.

Also, if anyone's interested in helping me out, with test-building or suggestions or whatnot, message me.

Go with unfolded2 (the last image).

Also, I'm in if you need a builder.

Some progress at last - Lots of on-the-spot changes but that's only to be expected. The biggest hurdle seems to be the internal supports. Nothing I learned about designing paper aircraft or ships from examining existing models is applicable here - this is such an odd design with many discontinuities.

Made some progress yesterday - I believe I solved my biggest stumbling block, which was how to connect all the pieces together. I'm designing the last few pieces now and will print them tomorrow and we'll see how it goes from there. Ain't nothing like seat-of-your-pants model building!

I also started working on instructions so eventually I can release it.

Lastly, I'm thinking on creating this model with some sort of optional extra detail page. maybe add some point defense cannons as well.

And I'm up to the first four pages of parts for the rear end of it on the beta build. I really like it.
