I have a Kindle and the great thing about a Kindle (or any ebook reader) is, you don't have to hold it open. But I like to lie on my side while reading, so I designed this cardboard book holder that would hold the Kindle at a 45 degree angle, same as my head when it's on the pillow and turned to one side. Strictly speaking it's not a paper model, It's made of thick non-corrugated cardboard pieces which I glued with a glue gun.

I have been making dodecahedron calendars for the past decade or so.
You make 12 pentagons of whatever size you want, put a month calendar onto each pentagon then glue the 12 pentagons together to make the dodecahedron.

Very handy for highlighting dates and to leave little notes about those dates for things like appointments and meetings. It leaves a historical trail of what you marked for the year.

Mak, one member here, makes some dodecahedron calendars and makes them available for download.
Here is a thread for the 2018 calendar:
The Making of Calender 2018
Those calendars are very visually nice. The ones I make are plain.

Not sure how useful it is but there's an anemometer (Leonardo’s Anemometer | paperPino) from paperPino | papercrafts, paper automata, paper toys, paper models, paper globes, more….

It's free-standing, with a wide base. I just put it on the nightstand - I like to read while laying on my side.
