Some Steampunk models (WIP)
Hello,
After years of lurking on the forum and making other peoples models I have been playing with Blender and Pepakura. I've started off doing some Steampunk like designs. One thing I have learnt is not to make the designs to fiddly on Blender. I currently have one model I'm am having to do a major rework on as it wasn't really buildable in some areas. Anyway here are the projects so far. I hope you like them. Steampunk rocket, Steampunk snail, Steampunk Dirigible. |

Thought I could pick one that I liked the most. Ha! I like 'em all! I'd definitely like to see these developed. Got any more in the incubator?

Those are really nice and imaginative.
I agree that it is really easy when using Blender to start overdoing the fiddly bits to the point that they become un-buildable (or at least very hard to build). I'm curious about the dirigible rigging. Did you pre-plan the length in Blender or work it out during the build. I'm not sure if I've seen any thread that dealt with "threads" specifically (probably in some WWI biplane builds?)

Thanks for the kind comments. I do have a few more in the works. Though I am an eternal faffer, always having to do that last alteration, so don't hold your breath !
This is a truck type vehicle. I made it a bit too fiddly with the pistons/wheels and the exhaust chimney. When I split it out on Pepakura the parts are a bit too thin in places. This will need a little tweaking. All part of the learning curve. |
