The upper and lower panels for the other rear corner are together now. Hopefully I'll finish the subassembly soon.

Let me ask a dumb question: which paper grammage are you using to build frames and small pieces? They look thicker than panels. Frames on this last picture looks particularly thick. Is it 300gsm or something heavier?

The frame (the part that surrounds each of the inset areas) is 67lb stock. The inset areas are one big part glued from the underside that is also 67lb stock. The raised panels have all been laminated up to .5mm thick (3 layers of 67lb stock IIRC).

Does that help answer your question?

Of corse it helps a lot. Way thicker than I guessed. Thanks mate!

I finished the 2nd rear corner last night. I am laying out parts for the nose, the "mudflaps", and the spats.

And now the nose sub-assemblies are complete. The rear and side "mud guards" are next, followed by the spats for the landing gear. I can see the light at the end of this tunnel... After the spats, I think the large bit left is the longitudinal spine across the top of the shuttle.

Some of the panel markings ended up being a little bit fainter than I really wanted...

The nice thing about the Narcissus, is that in the movie the shuttle was beat to crap... so making certain details messy (because it is quicker then making the component cleanly) is acceptable.
