Looks exactly like the original one. Using same textures it will be perfect!

Now I have a real question for the group. I am to the point where the structure itself is in place. I'm looking at the bottom center greeblie bay, and that is a pile of work in and of itself.

Would any gimp/photoshop experts be interested in recreating that in 2D grey-scale if I could give you the part UV map from my cad drawing? If I am to work on just that one part, I'd guess that I'd spend 3-4wks just on it. Same goes for the front of the bottom engines and the stuff under the spats. And in 4wks I hope to be in the middle of the alpha build so you guys can have it in your grubby little fingers sooner.

If nobody is interested, that's fine too.

And here is tonight's update with some minor details added... maybe the UV maps will start tomorrow.

Great work Thales. For greebles 2D image you can try to ask the NS4 from RPF forum I wrote about in post #12. Maybe he can render this areaa in grayscale for you from his 3d model.

That is an excellent idea. Thanks. I fired off a message to him.

NS4 said that he'd be willing to send me normalized images of the greebles parts... so that may make the UV mapping much simpler.

I've started on the textures and markings for the bottom of the shuttle. This is going to take a while.
