David,
It’s looking great! One critique: I’m fairly certain there’s only one p/u girl (BTW, modified “Joltin' Josie” from the B-29) on the Narc, port side. Another BTW... the original studio modelers came up with her nick name, “Miss Piggy”, due to the look of the snout-like nose. -J |

Narcissus Shuttle
Hi SkymanOO
I don't think it matters that Josie is on both side as the shuttle is symmetrical, maybe it was planned for the ship to be filmed from one side. Your work is outstanding David. Tom |

I do know authoritatively (from speaking with Syd Mead himself) that the rest of the symmetrical ships in Alien(s) were only built with one side complete. But the dropship and narcissus aren't entirely symmetrical with respect to markings. And thanks for the update... I will pull the pin-up girl from the starboard side.

This was one of the most useful threads on the Narcissus. Unfortunately the photobucket incident wiped out many images. However, I was smart enough to take screenhots of them when they still were there. So if you need some more refs just PM me. skyman was correct, BTW. The pinup was only on the port side. Threy wrote "Miss Piggy" on both sides though. |

Thanks revell-fan. There are some good photos in there. I can already see pieces of the rear corners that I'm going to have to redo.

I really hope everyone likes cutting out inset faces... because this model will be an exercise in doing it over and over again.
