K.U.K. Romfell Armored Car (P.A.2) type.1, 1/25
With the few found data and unwatchable photographs, I mainly used fantasy. Reason for which, the result is devoid of historicity.
The drawings found on the web are not very "technical", so I looked for photographs of commercial automobiles, Daimler or Mercedes, before 1915, with a chain transmission. Mercedes 37/90hp e 37/95hp soon, Matt77

In the progress of my work, there is still no steering, suspension, headlights and machine gun Schwarzlose M07 / 12.
Soon they will come, here there is no problem. My doubt is instead the painting of this armored car!!! From the photographs, the color seems very dark compared to the Balkenkreuz. Also in this case, there are no compelling examples: the Austro Hungarian artilleries were usually painted in light green gray .... temporarily I colored the body in this way: But certainly the end result will be a clearer and less saturated green. soon, Matt77

Looks like some well-informed extrapolation and an excellent model coming up.

Steel ring on rear wheel-is that an original "winch" for pulling car out of trouble?
I think I remember seeing something like this on old tractors. |

Could be, but it looks like a towing pintle hook to which a gun or trailer lunette would be attached. Often found on military vehicles.

Butelczynski - My apologies. I misread your query. I do not know what the steel ring on the rear wheel is for, but your guess sounds right.
Matt - My apologies for my irrelevant comment in your thread. I look forward to further work on this fascinating KuK armored car. Don |
