Thank you Cybermac - but we must not forget: I am just reporting, designer Cor van Haasteren is doing the work - and explaining it to me for this report!

Well than good luck for both of you sirs!
This is a very nice looking model of a classic bird. Managed to see DC-4/C-54 in UK and the real 'candy bomber' in Berlin

I warned you before: this is going to take time. Right now, Cor and I are preparing for a coach to go with the Santa Fé F-7 locomotive, which is proving a success - so we hope builders will like the idea of a complete train!
In the meantime, the DC-4 is progressing. The basic shapes (fuselage, wings) are relatively easy, but parts with double curves like the wing roots an fairings are very demanding. The pictures show where we are going: the first one shows the nose nearing completion, the second one shows the wing fairing, the third one gives the first 3D impression of the plane as a whole. When landing gear, windows, doors etc. have been added, the moment will come for the model to be 'cut open' so that all parts can be 'flattened'. Pepakura will play an important part at that stage.

YK, is that an official model, or is it a scatch-build? Either way, it looks very interesting. I recognize the Schreiber Swissair DC-7C cockpit windshield however, so it seems a scratch-build. Very nice.

Yankeekilo,

Looks fine!
At which points did you modify the Schreiber-original?

Just to remind everyone that Cor van Haasteren is still progressing - this project is bugged by all sorts of problems, now a computer crash. Fortunately nothing lost, but selecting a new computer and installing all the programmes and files took almost two weeks. Now the tail, another very difficult part, is almost completed.
