Hello gents,
Thank you for your kind words! The next segment is going to be a bit of pain as it connects with the air intakes (will take some time to get it designed, connected, colored, printed, glued) - but I hope this is the last difficult part of U-2A/D kind regards Cybermac |

air intake
Hello gents,
That was a proper pain in the back side to get this air intake aligned correctly with the cylindrical shape of the fuselage. All because the drawings/plans from each dimension were showing something slightly different. Anyway, after couple of energy drinks and some more gray hair on my had I consider it done. (will add the photo very soon from another device) kind regards Cybermac |

Rescue (me)
Hello gents,
I have just recently got my hands on some decals for U-2. All of them vary from what I could see on the photos. The surviving U-2's in museums seem to be repainted with a bit of fantasy and they stencils (if any???) are very different from original stencils - that is another fact. All together I tried to follow what is shown on the old blurred photos which was a really hard job. I am still looking for better photos but anyway, I have done my best and I think I have got it correct as for 1970's U-2D. And that was my first ever - 'Oh R-E-S-C-U-E me' clash with little stencils. kind regards Cybermac Last edited by Cybermac; 01-27-2021 at 08:02 AM. |

But you are still going to make the U-2C used by Francis Powers when he was shot down in the USSR way back in Mat 1, 1960? It is the most famous of all U-2s and extrremely easy to decorate.

Hello,
Petestein - there is no chance I would give up on the most famous U-2 in the world This is a double no no! This is why so far I was showing the ready bits for 'white + red stripe' + 'dark blue' versions. By the way, I just found the first ever published scale drawings of Lockheed U-2 (in a decent resolution) drawn by a famous aviation enthusiast/graphic designer/writer/publisher Mr. Björn Karlström from Sweden. They were published in Model Airplane News, March 1958 which is two years before the would could officially find out about U-2 existence.
