1/200 Su-24 Fencer -- design

its been a long time since i last tried my hand at designing, but i feel like ive learned a lot just from building more models and i figured id give it another shot

After only 2 days of working on it, its started to take shape so i figured id share the current status of the first prototype (please emphasizs prototype, the finished model will be a lot neater, digital, and have full color and panel lines--this is essentially just making sure the parts fit).
Taking from brunos 1/100 f-14, i got the wings to have adjudtable sweep. I will also redesign the aftmost portion of the fuselage as i am not happy with how it came out. I also still need to design the canopy, which will give the top of the plane a much less 'flat' feel, and smaller details like the landing gear and fuel tanks. As for adding panel lines to curved surfaces, im truthfully not very experienced at all in that regard, so i am open to any help in that area of expertise however, i will do my best to get the model satisfactorily completed regardless!
I do intend to make it free for download as well

That's a great first draft!

Thanks Carlos!

Yesterday I worked on correcting the rear of the fuselage and I built a second prototype, adding a canopy to both (that will need some revisioning imo). It's honestly not that different from the first prototype as it comes from mostly the same measurements; I will probably show both prototypes once I get the landing gear and aerials all sorted out. Today, however, I got a little sidetracked and went ahead and digitalized a good bit of the design, including all of the different versions' tails according to the Yefim Gordon book

I will test build these parts tomorrow, but I figured I'd post just to indicate the direction of the project (although two pieces still lack panel lines):

Still in progress :)

I just finished tooling around in inkscape (it makes things a lot easier than the free legacy version of illustrator I used to use!) and decided I would share this untested su-24 for anyone interested in beta building. It doesn't include landing gear, but I will be sure to add that, as well as hardpoints and detail pieces, in the final models.

Very nice result PaperEngineer.
You pick a rather complicated model, but it looks really good.
I am very busy at these time otherwise I would love to build it very soon.
Thank you very much for sharing.

Thanks WireAndPaper! If you ever have time to build, I would love to see!
I actually had time this morning to put together a quick build and discover a few flaws, the most notable of which being:
1)The nose cone is slightly too big for the front of the fuselage
2)The top part of the fuselage does not extend far enough to meet the engine exhaust housing
3)still not entirely satisfied with the canopy's shape
Other than that though, not bad! I will play around with inkscape some more and fix these issues, then add some more details

I've been looking for this model, thank you very much for sharing it, I fit you well to be the beta although I have several doubts

1, how do I assemble the wings with the variable geometry mechanism?
2, you plan to do a SU-34 fullback (the evil duck)

The second prototype looks pretty good. Only a few things to correct. Good work!

Thank you Juan Angel and Carlos
@Juan Angel I plan on making a photo tutorial on how to build my model when I have the time and drive, probably next weekend or some point shortly after. As for my next model, I want to do a lot of su-24 recolors first, but I think my next plane will be the MiG-31

I recently finished building a more detailed fencer after addressing the issues of the previous build. There are still a few minor tweaks I want to make before releasing (namely making that main landing gear chassis a little more accommodating for the wheels), but this is generally what the final model will look like!

And a family photo of all previous prototypes:
