Certainly do! of course there is a certain obligation on my part, this picture of an Empire boat was taken just behind my house, sadly long before I was around to see them although my neighbour did use them as see-saws on the river as a kid.

Yankee Clipper in Baltimore Harbor

And BOAC Boeing 314s still flew out of Baltimore Harbor when I was a kid in the late 1940s.

Photo: The Yankee Clipper Lands at Harbor Field, March, 1939
Photographed by Robert Kniesche, Maryland Historical Society Library, Special Collections Department. Photo 31: Maryland in Focus; Panel 3: Photogragh as Historical Document

A bit off the topic of British 1940s airliners in general and the Brabazon in particular, but still . . .

Don

The CLIPPER is one of the nicest looking FB's and AIRFIX do {or did} a kit which was quite good - but in the not paper variety

Shes a Short Empire Boat the precursor to the Sunderland and the Boeing 314 Clipper's main rival.Airfix have re-released the 314,she's a bit long in the tooth now but still well worth having.

Yes i had to go and have a look at that because she looked so much like the Sunderland i wasn't too sure. Airfix are re-ashing lots of items and adding new stuff too, but never again will a piece of plastic model pass through my fingertips - papers here to stay
