Patience is a virtue
Reminds me of a popular poster from my teen years:
(two vultures on a tree branch, with one remarking) "Patience my A*S! I want to kill something!" A huge part of this work is kooklik's artistry with paints and the wiring details. Translating the beautifully realistic finish into a 'graphic texture' for publishing would definitely be a challenge. Thanks again for sharing this marvelous project, K!

Hello there
Just a little bit part of time which I could spare for my hobby in day by day or week by week in sometimes :p. I have a small progress of building around the trail truck want to report. I finished the wiring of grease tubes of the left side. Not be painted yet. I will paint after the brake cylinders and their wiring are installed. Still have more parts to be installed to the trail truck. I will enjoy building those parts during the Thailand's traditional long holidays (Songkrant Fest.) which will start in a few days from now. ----kooklik----

Beautiful as always, Kooklik! Really outstanding modeling. When completed, you will have a masterpiece worthy of display in any museum.
I'd wager it is at that point now!

There are 8 BigBoys in museums around the US which is remarkable because only 25 were built. It is a tribute to how popular they were. Although no Big Boy will be restored the UP did restore the 3985 Challanger which is very close. It has three axle drivers on each engine instead of 4.
Here is a video I found on Youtube Union Pacific 3985 with Maximum Smoke in HD - YouTube |

Hello all
And thanks to rixtoys for sharing the awesome 3985 video. Seeing the real movements. Hear the sound of steam and wheels on track , feel how the ground shakes when it's getting close. This is a thing what I want to do once in my life. During my childhood I saw Thai Railway's steam locomotives operated in my hometown. I still remember the smell of steam when a train ran pass to me. Very impressive feeling to steam era. ----kooklik----
