Hi kooklik,

great to see your project is still alive!

You might want to check out this amazing piece of software - I think I gonna use this for my LUT:

www simlab-soft com/3d-products/simlab-composer-main.aspx

Basically, it creates a 3D-PDF from your model that a builder can view simply using Acrobat Reader. You can zoom, pan and rotate the model. You can isolate parts or parts groups. You can capture scenes from building stages and give the builder a guided tour through the assembly procedure. And you can add 3D comments - ballons tied to parts e.g. for part numbers or verbous building instructions. It's just stunning.

I've put a free download of a swing arm from my LUT project onto my website at www microartwork com, and the building instructions uses this new technology. Maybe you want to have a look at it

edit - I'm not allowed to post links here. Very strange

good to see you are still here. a slow pace is ok, instructions are the most important part of a card model and you do them very very well. you make it so easy to understand how to make the model since you take the time to show us how so well with the instructions...

thanks so much for sharing your model creations with us.

Greetings. The 4014 is getting ready to move on open rail. Here is a link with images of this loco up close and related move info. A large model of this will be impressive!

A wonderful film made by Union Pacific Railroad to commemorate the last of the giant steam locomotives, the UP 4000 class "Big Boy". This film is in the Public Domain.

Sorry if this is a repost.
Maybe the real one will beat the paper model into service grin.

Thank you so much, Hmas, for posting this link. This is the film I stumbled upon on a $5 documentary DVD, then was able to send to Kooklik (the postage to Thailand cost more than the DVD). The film's big revelation was the hinge in the center of the frame, to help such a long locomotive get around curves -- you can see the frame pivoting in certain scenes.
