Air dave
yours is H0 scale 1/87 & just a plastic shell, the $6K one is 1/25 scale electric & all the bells & whistles, & can pull 20+ wagons. I think I said a temp closing until Kooklik returns

Its "airdave" ...no space.
And its not just plastic...it comes with a nifty cardboard box too! Made from real card board. Keep that in mind...board of card. okay...temporarily why? If Kooklik returns, and his thread is closed, I would hate for him to get the wrong impression and not ask why. The language issue might be a factor.

I too would like to know why. Could it be the poster is becoming annoyed at the number of inquiries?

I hate the idea of closing threads unless they become clogged with controversy and invective unrelated to paper modelling. Threads like this one are historical treasure troves of enduring value.
We have had many cases of long-fallow threads coming to life. I have some projects that have been stalled for years that I have good intentions of finishing. Don |

No, why do you need to have it explained to you.

Well, you just helped add eight more posts to this thread!
LOL Nine now! ... When Koolik returns...a light doesn't go on in someone's office. The thread doesn't automatically unlock. So, Koolik, with his weak English, would find his long lost thread locked...dead... and he might assume that we have lost interest. And he might go away again! If the thread was sufficiently off topic, it could be pruned. Or a new thread can easily be started. I don't think its a big deal. Or, like many other very long threads here, it could be continued regardless of the all the extra (uneccesary) posts. But, are they really uneccesary posts? Many people post on forums just for the attention and social interraction. Many artists and designers show their work because they too crave the attention. And having hundreds of posts asking where you are, is a LOT of positive attention! ... I guaranty, if he ever comes back and restarts this thread, he will receive endless posts celebrating his return! Maybe we should just keep the thread locked so that doesn't happen either? lol I know...lets just do our best to keep this thread on topic. I think thats the best thing we can do. So, heres a whole yard full of Big Boys I spotted last week.

Has anyone tried to use Google to translate English to Thai (the most common dialect I assume?) Might help?

Waay baaack...when the Big Boy was first started,
I was working on Kooklik's U-Boats and I was tasked by Kooklik to do the colouring on the Big Boy Tender. The Tender had already been completed, before the Engine, and the test build was finished...although hand painted. The model needed colouring before it could be released. At the time, I felt it was going to be too big of a project for me (I had other things on the go) so Kooklik and I put the project aside since he was now busy working on the Engine. Anyway, as many of you know, its been a long term project for Kooklik and its been a very long time since his last update. I was chatting with him, making sure all was well in his life, and he has passed along this message: "That's good to hear that you were fine and the forums was asking about me. I'm now focusing on exercise and health care after I missed for many year. Please tell the forum I missed them all. I will return to Big Boy someday in the future." So, good and bad news in many ways. Hopefully that satisfies your curiosity. Be well Kooklik!
