Schneider 1909 Amoured lorry.

Going to have a go at an armoured lorry design. First vehicle design in sketchup so may take a while. Got lot's of projects on the go at the moment so this will be a slow cook design!!

If anybody has any info that can help, please feel free to share!

Ps. I will be desgning at 1:100 scale. It will be for wargaming so I will be considering simplicity of build and strength rather than minute accuracy. Will still do my best though!

Great choice! I love the look of that one. Good luck with it and I hope it goes swimmingly for you. Looking forward to seeing the finished product!

I think this will turn out to be a very interesting vehicle to see as a model.

I wish you every success with it, Sporticus.

Kind and Respectful Regards Sporticus, Uyraell.

Thanks. Yes that's a good link. There are two differnet versions shown. I have dimensions of one, but I don't know which one! So I am having to do a bit of guess work in the design. Without really detailed info I'm aiming to try and get the proportions right by eye and get the right look.

Thanks Chicharrero. Those are the dimensions I have except the height mentioned elsewhere is 3 metres not 4. I notice on the site you link to someone makes a note at the end that the 4 metres is wrong and I agree.

I was a bit confused about which model was the first and which was the second. I am fairly happy now that the one I have started to model is the first one. I think I will probably design both in the end! I am yet to decide if the measurement are accurate or not, but I'll see how I get on!

Hmmm, some progress. Happy that the dimensions mentioned refer to the model I am designing.

Unhappy with the front of the model. From one photo it appears the 'roof' is not flat. I believe that the roof splits in two like the second version and there is a slight ridge.
However I can't work out exactly how this ridge then coinicides with the front. I feel there should be a slight ridge up the center of the front. However the upper hatch on the front appears straight as a die. I guess that maybe the rest of the front has a ridge and this hatch i recessed. Or maybe the piece above the hatch does.

Wish there was a better picture of the front with the hatches shut!!
