Usefulness and Affordability...,
The decision to make the tutorial public was decided by the thought that anyone that desires to design paper models needs any and all the help that they can possibly get. So, this is a little tiny bit of help in that direction.
Interesting, but true, most modern military aircraft design is more interested in defeating radar or relies on plain unadulterated brute force power in lieu of finessing efficient airframe designs . Besides, once you leave the atmosphere aerodynamically efficient structures aren't really required. Ablative re-entry shielding is required for the re-entry and a limited amount of maneuvering during the "busing" phase of weapon delivery. Remembering the fact that weapons of war center around improving the ways ordnance is delivered and has been a fact of life ever since the discovery of gunpowder. Unmanned aircraft are now changing the in-country battle plan at a rate that boggles even those who are in charge of it. The days of grace for aircraft have been replaced with the cruel efficiencies of war and business best practices. Let's face it, that's why it's much more fun to model Unlimited Class Reno Racer's, Lockheed Super Constellations, Century Series Jets and the like. Now those are the types of artifacts that should be modeled as they are living examples of an art put to beautiful practice. I can appreciate that. Rhino, from a value point of view, is dirt cheap. Sign up for some courses at your local Junior College and buy it at the education package discount. But whatever you do get up and running with it. You will live your life in regret till then..., Best regards, +Gil |
