Nosferatu

I am going to do a build of the classic vampire, Nosferatu. I think I am going to use the image of him on the deck of a ship for the pose.

I used the base head, and made the first version,

then did a few changes, scaled it down some and made version two.

Wonderful Nosferatu. Will you be 'colouring' the figure in black and white in keeping with the age of the film ?

That is my plan. Similar to how I handled ole Frank. Very muted colors if any, mostly values. But, lately, I have been thinking the raw paper would be cool to see as well. Maybe two versions?

This is absolutely gorgeous! Organic shape are very hard to make in paper. I hope the final model will be black & white, too?

If you are a Tim Burton Batman fan, as I am, you may remember Christopher Walken as the villain Maximillian Shreck, the boss of Selena Kyle (Catwoman).
This was a direct reference to Max Schreck, the actor who played Count Orlok (Nosferatu) by Tim Burton.
If you are a classic Vampire fan (as I am)...you have to see this film at least once.
The original Dracula.

Nosferatu is long and slow and it really depends on the soundtrack.
Ideally, it could be edited down to about 30 minutes and still work.
I've seen this film so many times with different music arrangements.
Some make it more enjoyable for its long 90 minutes (or whatever length it is).

And Schreck is a very interesting actor.
If you want a real treat, check out the movie Shadow of the Vampire with Willem Dafoe playing Schreck.
It gives a more indepth explanation about how Schrek was really Count Orlok.

That is my initial plan. All gray scale, or sepia tone.

I agree the original gets a little long at times. I really liked Shadow of the Vampire. That is such a good take on the story of the film. Very good film. Willem DaFoe plays the part of Max Schrek/Count Orlok.
