When designing what files do you use
This is for all the designers, or soon to be.., what kinds of files do you guys work with?
like cad drawings, 3d pictures etc... I have found a few web sites that have free cad drawings, free 3d models and some free mechanical drawings. ( they may have been posted already not sure) Seeing i have no talent in designing yet i would like to share the links if anyone is interested. |

not sure I get the question?
as a designer of certain types of models, I don't work with a certain file type as much as I work with a certain program. And then I save and export files in certain file types depending on how they are going to be used. for example...most of my model design artwork is done in coreldraw so I constantly save files as cdr and cpp because I will be reopening for further work in the same program. when a model is finished and ready to be released, I usually export as a PDF file. -sometimes artwork and images are exported as jpegs or gifs for web use. If I was designing a particular part in a 3D program, I would export/save it as a file type that I can import into Corel. Most likely as a dxf file. So file types are generally restricted to what your software can handle.
