pep3 vs. pep3hirez

did a little experimenting to see what appreciable differences there were between the 2.the sample here shows the writing at the right side is clearer, however not necissarilly a quantum improvement.(the top is the hi rez) but, the stripes to the left you may notice, there is a huge difference. the bottom example is "blocky" while the top one is smooth shaded. may be worth the investment. the texture file image used was 3000x2008. the bottom was resized by pep3 to 1024.

Re: pep3 vs. pep3hirez

Indeed the differences are huge. Anyway those hi-res images are more useful with large paper sizes like A3 or more. For little details 1024x1024 is enough in many cases.
Printers work with 300dpi, so 3000x3000px means 10"x10" image, more than a A4 or Letter size.

Depending on your needs you can so evaluate the investment.
