Page size of A4 is 210mm/297mm.Page size A3 is 297mm/420mm.So A3 contain 2 time A4.
U.S. Letter is 216 mm/278mm. Any printer A4 dimension have U.S.Letter dimension too on your own programm . Cheers |

Dear Friends:
What John really needs is how big a field he can fill up and it will still print on the American letter at actual size. I am doing a beta build for him. His Helix is a great deal of fun to build can't weight to see what the cats think of it. Thanks, Miles |

A popular suggestion put forth by rickstef from the thread referenced is to keep all of the graphics within a 7.75 x 10.50 inch area on the page. That way it will print at 100% on both USLtr and A4 size stock taking into account all of the various minimum margin settings on a wide variety of printers. You can do the developement on USLtr or A4, but keep the graphics within that area.

With the models that I am designing in CAD I have made a templete frame for this very reason, and sizes that one has for placing your design with in is 279mm x 210mm which will cover both A4 and LTR sized pages.

And in most cases, should accomodate all your parts. I'm doing much the same thing with my Centurion MBT model. I'm using A4 pages, but with a 8"x11" frame (or thereabouts) to place the parts. I have added a note to every page, reminding the builder, that the pages must be printed "borderless" (no margins) to print on to Letter size pages.
