Need someone to do a small repaint on an ecardmodel

I purchased the Gearing class destroyer kit from Ecardmodels. Chri told me the original designer passed away, and perhaps some one on this sight might do the repaint. It involves changing the ship id to 821 and the name to Johnston.

This was my brothers first ship when he went into the Navy in 1955. He turns 78 next year and I would like to do it for his birthday.

Chris also suggested we could submit the repaint to Ecardmodels.

Any help would be appreciated.

Larry

USS Rupertus (Gearing Class) DD 851 ca. 1959 - Paper Modelers Gallery
I did the same thing for my Father. I would be glad to share what I came across. This class was around a long time, and so had a good number of versions. Tracking those down turned out to be half the fun.

Aansorge............ I've got the hull numbers changed, I just need to know if the name was across the aft of the ship.......... I've already put it on, but removing is no problem if it wasn't there.

Itboice......... if you can PM me with your email address and I'll send you the pages that have been changed.

I don't know if this is the right place for this, so please forgive me for elbowing in, but I hadn't thought about Barry for a while, and am grateful for the reminder.

I liked him a lot and feel honored that I had the pleasure of (sort of) working with him through this forum for a while . It is great that his beautiful ship designs are still available and being built.

Hijack over.

Nobody hijacked the post. I didn't know Barry but I am thankful for his design.
