Just for converting, instead of "Save As...", "Save a Copy" is often even better, because it doesn't change the current filename - you can continue editing and saving in its native format.

Notice you can set a background color, complete with transparency, in the Document Properties dialog, but IIRC it works only when you export to a raster format, not to PDF or SVG. |

Is the opacity of parts 24 and 25 100%?
If not - try to change it to 100%. |

Did you flatten the image before converting to PDF.
If not sometimes a layer can be corrupted in the conversion. Jim |

i was looking for a way to flatten but have not been able to find it. all i see are options to move layers around or delete. could you tell me how?

I was just checking the inkscape manual and sorry it does not have a flattening function like similar programs, but in checking Export to PDF function, make sure you have "Rasterize filter effects" checked. If not checked objects with filters are not drawn.
Hope this helps. Note: If you are interested Prentice Hall has a manual " Inkscape Guide to a Vector Drawing Program by Tavmjong Bah". Jim |
