Unfolding the Oceanco Superyacht 「EQUANIMITY」

Hello,

I just created a 3D model of the Oceanco Y709 「EQUANIMITY」, in a way I can unfold it into constructable parts.
There are about 30 separated modules, from which three of them are made of parts of same or identical geometry.

Is someone with a Pepakura Designer license willing to help me unfolding her?

It is extremely important for me to build a supersized (roughly on the 1/87 or 1/72 scale) model and apply a RC chassis to it, as a ground waterline model.

I am planning to design other Oceanco models (the 「VITRUVIUS ACQUAINTANCE」 and 「TITAN」, and probably the 「MOONSTONE」, 「REDENTORE」 and 「STILETTO」) to make the same thing, and someday expose them at Oceanco's shipyard at Alblasserdam, the Netherlands.

I hope somebody can actually unfold her the most, since I have no other way of unfolding her apart Pepakura Designer.

I wish I had a purchased copy, so I could advance much quicker on the other superyachts I have in mind, especially the　「VITRUVIUS ACQUAINTANCE」 and later the 「TITAN」.

The 「TITAN」 will be slightly harder to conceive, as the vessel's superstructure is quite curved, so making those curves as unfoldable into the fewest parts as possible is the key to achieve a superb superyacht papercraft that everyone with any papercrafting experience can build with no major troubles.

My ultimate goal is to express my idea to the Oceanco Staff, the day I can put them on my car's trunk and drive all the way to Alblasserdam, so they can maximize their advertising through these models; for everyone to own their own model "superyacht" and perhaps help grow an interest in ordering with Oceanco, if they actually have the money to invest on a yacht, that is... (^^;

NQEA did it through two papercrafts (from which I built two of the larger one, the 「HORIZONS II」), so I believe Oceanco and others may follow the same example.

Mind yourselves that the last two images are the next ones I plan to design, and later unfold with your help too; respectively 「VITRUVIUS ACQUAINTANCE」 and 「TITAN」. (^^)

As I got no help - I obviously cannot blame anyone for showing no will to embark on my plan - I decided to unfold the　「EQUANIMITY」 all by myself.

Though the process of manually unfolding such a model may look painful, the fact is that both the 3D development and the manual unfolding process together took the equivalent of three entire days.

Now that the first prototype is already built, I share these photos with you, so I am able to at least capture a little of your attention for the next projects I have in mind; please be aware I am asking you to help me correctly unfolding them, that's all and a GREAT help already.







So the only fault here is that the bridge block seems a little bit too high, so the flybridge above can correctly meet the flanks.

The scale and especially the choice of the paper/preparation did not helped much either... (^^;

Anyway I am very happy the whole hull and especially the transom fitted just perfectly!

Leave the unfolding process to me. (^^)

I will someday acquire Pepakura, master it to produce a great unfolding arrangement and then I can really say I did something quite good.

The other models will be using textures, to appease the problems the 「EQUANIMITY」 was being plagued with, but also to add a little bit more of realistic effect.

Looks great!! I can't wait to purchase it and build it myself. Looking forward to your other designs too.

I at one time was designing the Pelorus Yacht but gave up on it, I am to much of a perfectionist and was trying to get to much detail into it but couldn't. Maybe some day I will get back to it.
