Companies that will produce punch out sheets?
Hello,
Completely new here, but hoping someone might be able to help point me in the right direction. I'm looking to produce a paper model in volume - something suitable for kids to assemble without having to cut out the pieces, just punch them out from pre-cut and scored sheets. I've ben googling around trying to find companies that produce these, but have had no luck, maybe I don't know the right terms. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Attached photo is the type of product I'm looking to produce - pre-scored and pre-cut parts to be punched out for easy assembly. If this is the wrong forum for this please let me know. Thanks. |

Its called "die cutting"
A die has to be made to punch the printed pages. Just like art setup costs, its an additional step and an additonal cost in the process of producing the book. Many Printers/Print Shops have connections for die cutting services. That would be the place to start. Just tell them that on top of printing the book, you need one or more pages die cut.

I am bringing to the convention your answer of models produced in England years ago which I plan to sell! If I have time will try to send you info otherwise will have to wait till convention. Your idea is good but I think the stuff coming out of Poland of laser cut models is an answer, if you wish further discussion outside this thread send me a private message, yours Joseph

In this day and age you have an alternative option to die cutting which is laser cutting. The laser can be set to do both cutting and scoring. Since no custom made tool needs to be made, laser cutting is much cheaper for small production runs. You can find laser cut services on line. If you are lucky you live in a cities with a maker-space, a public workshop or lab, where you can do the lasering yourself for a small fee. Good luck.

If your question is about a maker space, Google is your friend.
A search for "maker-space Cleveland" finds for example TechCentral MakerSpace Good luck! |
