In Corel, make a rectangle with one of the top corners a the peak of the roof, drag the side of the rectangle till the bottom touches the lowest outside corner of the roof line. Convert the rectangle to a curve, the using the node tool delete the node that is out in space. That will give you a right triangle with the long side being the roof line. Now if you want to know the distance that line is, rotate the image to where the line is either horizontal or vertical. You can make one end of the line 0 by dragging the upper left hand corner (by the ends of the rulers for the drawing) down to one end. Then drag a guideline out to the other end and you can read the distance off of the rulers or the exact measurement in either the X or Y box at the top of the page.
