ADF football

I know I have a couple in some of the downloads I have, but just cannot find it. Can someone point me to one of the download kits that has a good ADF "football" in larger scale (1:35 or so).

Thanks,
John

I know the Radio Direction Finder (RDF?) Antenna on WWII aircraft was often called a football. Maybe that's what he means??

Yep, ADF (Automatic Direction Finding) replaced earlier RDF (Radio Direction Finding) systems. Football - teardrop - I guess I should attach a picture .

Try this one, Murph's Mariner, but not free. It's big even at 1/72.

Hi All,

I had to laugh when I saw yukonjohn's ADF football question. I knew what it was because when I was building plastic models back in the early 1960s, the instructions actually described the various parts of the model and not just slapped numbers on them.

I remember seeing one when I was a kid, but it wasn't where it was supposed to be. It was firmly screwed to the roof of a Volkswagen Beetle. It was pretty memorable watching that thing driving down the street.

Score and fold,

Thumb Dog
