Looking for Some Help . Textures

I am starting my new model railroad and I want to build my sawmill using siding that is printed on paper . I am modeling the West Side Lumber company and I want to create board and batten siding using paper. I want to print the texture I need on paper but I am not sure how to get what I need right . The pattern should be 12 inch wide pine boards in HO scale with a 4 inch batten . I could draw this all day in Solidworks but the texture is the thing ?

Thank you for any help !

I can quickly produce you a couple of sheets if you want. Will just take a few minutes. For batten just cut strips and overlay.

But light color, dark, distressed?

See below - if one is the texture you want send, me a PM with your email and tell me which one, and I will quickly do some sheets for you in HO. Width will not necessarily be 12", but you can increase or decrease the sheet when you print to get the correct width you want.

Check out Clever Models, Model Railway Scenery, and Scalescenes. They all offer downloadable photo-realistic building papers in HO and OO (1/76) scales at very reasonable prices.

When I'm looking for textures, I'll do a Google search for the texture that I want, then use Photoshop to scale it and place it on the part I want to texture.

A project I started long ago (and didn't complete...yet) is the Alamo. If you are wanting to model a certain building, go take some digital photos of it. There are some really good textures out there, yet some of the best can come from your own search for something new.

I would love to see how this project proceeds. This is right up my ally. Please share your progress.

I have used Evans sw to build a couple of small N scale buildings.

Those thinking of using Evans, be careful. It not longer appears to work on the latest W10 versions. Older versions still run it fine.
