Bavaria 30 Cruiser sail boat 3D model

Dear paper friends,
I have recently purchased a Bavaria 30 Cruiser sail boat, and I would like to design the relative paper model. I made some research on internet, but it seems that there is no 3D model of it. I am thinking about to ask the Bavaria Yachts firm if they can provide me the 3D model or the 2D plans (the model has been out of production since 2009)...
Do you think that is a too pretentious request?
Which is your experience in asking for 3D model or plans for designing your models?

Thanks for your help.
Ciao,
PINO

Pino - ask, especially if you have one.

In my humble experience, when I have asked for this sort of thing one of two things happens.

1. They never respond, ever!

2. They send you everything you need and more!

Hopefully, number (2) happens in your case.

----------------------------------

A good example of (2) was last year. I enjoy the "small house" concept and there was an award-winning house I saw which I wanted to model.

So I mailed and asked for some basic diagrams and explained why.

They sent me 3 view plans. The architect then contacted me and said he would like to see the finished model. He also offered me free, a full set of the architect's plans in case I ever wanted to actually build the house - which is my dream one day!

The builders of your boat
https://www.bavariayachts.com/sailing-yachts
currently have a .pdf brochure for their more recent cruiser34
https://www.bavariayachts.com/filead...er34-de-en.pdf

Possibly they may have an "out of print" copy of an earlier .pdf for the cruiser30.
